To update from Version 1 to Version 2 (see below for important information before updating):
STEP 1. Always backup your data before performing any update! Instructions for backing up the Show Barn Manager data file can be found within in the program when you select "Exit Show Barn Manager" from the main switchboard menu, or under Help | About Show Barn Manager from the menu bar.
STEP 2. Click this link, GetUpdate_v2_0_Part1. Click "Open". You need to "Allow" and then "Open" this part of the update; it will tell you it has completed successfully. (If it tells you it cannot create the directory, click the above link again and Save the file to your computer instead. Then right-click on the file you saved and select Run as Administrator. Then follow the directions above.)
STEP 3. Click the appropriate link for your operating system below. Click Run, and then click Run again. Click Unzip. It will tell you 1 file was unzipped successfully. Close all windows and then run the Show Barn Manager Version 2 software.
STEP 4. Use this step ONLY if your Show Barn Manager icons no longer start the program. Click the appropriate link for your operating system below. Click Save to save the file to your computer. Close the file download box and any windows you don't want open still. Right-click on the file you just saved and select Run as Administrator. Click Yes. Click Unzip. It will tell you 1 file was unzipped successfully. Close all unnecessary windows. Now you can run Show Barn Manager from the icons again.
***Changes from Version 1 to Version 2 that require your input:
--You will need to enter a number into the "change interval by" box for each Due Date record in order for the program to calculate the next due date. ("0" is the most likely number you will enter, but any positive or negative number will change the interval by the amount you enter.) Until you enter a number in this box the Next Due Date will read "#Error". Some forms and reports that are dependent on due dates may not display properly or at all until this is done. Start with just your current horses and records and change others as you need to. To help you locate boxes that need a value entered, they will appear highlighted in red when they are empty.
--You will need to check the "Booster Done?" box from all earlier Vaccination records in which you checked the "Needs Booster?" box in order for those records to be removed form the Booster Due Date list.
--Please print out any current Vaccination records from Version 1 so that you can enter them in the new Version 2 format if you would like to. This new format allows for a much greater amount of information and fine tuning in your Vaccination Records, however, you will need to add all of this new information in order for it to be the most useful.
